By far the greatest speculation about the Great Pyramid deals with the question of its purpose. The theories range from the mundane--that it served only as a big burial mound--to the most extravagant--that it was built as a landing sight for aliens who met with the Egyptian high priests: their emissaries to mankind. While some of these theories may seem mutually exclusive, it is actually more likely that most of them are at least partially correct.
